Structural empowerment, psychological empowerment, and work engagement: A cross-country study

In this cross-country study we drew on job demands-resources theory to investigate whether psychological empowerment mediates the positive association between structural and work engagement and, consequently, task performance intention quit. A total of 1033 employees working in service sector Spain (N = 515) United Kingdom 518) participated study. Multi-group equation modeling analyses revealed that partially mediated relationship engagement, associated positively with negatively Invariance suggested link was stronger for UK than Spain, providing support partial invariance hypothesized model. These findings suggest is an underlying mechanism may explain why relates implications (i.e., extend nomological network investigated constructs) management practice (e.g., emphasize role design).
